Trident Color Mixing Guide

This guide is intended to help you mix the main and most popular colors on the artists pallet. Please note that there are notes and tips on some of the more 'extreme' formulations to make it practical and easier for you. If there are any colors or formulations you would like to see, please let us know and we will see what we can do.

Cool Primaries

Cool Blue
4 drops TRU Yellow
16 drops TRU Blue
20% Yellow, 80% Blue
Cool Red
19 drops TRU Red
1 drop TRU Violet
95% Red, 5% Violet
Cool Yellow
19 drops TRU Yellow
1 drop Cadmium Yellow (see mixture below)
95% Yellow, 5% Cadmium Yellow - 99.9% Yellow, 0.01% Blue

Warm Primaries

Warm Blue
10 drops TRU Blue
10 drops TRU Violet
50% Blue, 50% Violet
Warm Red
29 drops TRU Yellow
21 drops TRU Red
58% Yellow, 42% Red
Warm Yellow

0.25% Red, 99.75% Yellow
To mix colors like this or even lighter, it is suggested to mix a decent quantity of Benzimida Orange (Light Orange),then use a tiny drop or more of that in yellow to get your lightest oranges.

To make transparent/Candy/GlazeTRIDENT colors can be added to the Transparent Base to make Transparent colors.Transparent color show up over light surfaces and colors but are invisible over dark backgrounds.

Transparent Colors

Add 30% of TRIDENT color to 70% of TRIDENT Transparent Base (Neutral). Reduce as required

Oranges

Benzimida Orange (Light Orange)
49 Drops TRU Yellow
1 Drop TRU Red
98% Yellow, 2% Red
To mix colors like this or even lighter, it is suggested to mix a decent quantity of Cadmium Orange foryour 'color library' then use a drop or more of that in yellow to get your lightest oranges.

Cadmium Orange (Mid-Orange)

19 drops TRU Yellow
1 drop TRU Red

95% Yellow, 5% Red

Pyrrole Orange (Moly/Burnt Orange)

18 drops TRU Yellow
2 drop TRU Red

90% Yellow, 10% Red

Naphthol Scarlet (Deep Orange-Red)

15 drops TRU Yellow
5 drop TRU Red

80% Yellow, 20% Red

Greens

Cadmium Lemon (Light Lime)
999 drops Phthalo Green
1 drop TRU Blue
99.9% Yellow, .01% Blue
To mix colors like this or even lighter, it is suggested to mix a decent quantity of Phthalo Green or Permanent Green Light for your 'color library' then use a tiny drop or more of that in TRU yellow to get your lightest greens.
